First, Bob flies to Rome, where he’ll take a train to the other side of Italy. Then he’ll take a ferry across the Adriatic Sea to Croatia where he’ll wander around aimlessly (well, not completely aimless, but enough to really relax), meeting merry folk from who knows where and generally having a good time. And halfway through the trip, he retraces the ferry and train trips back to Rome where Gina will meet him.
Reunited, they take a train to the Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore is where the top floor studio apartment that will be home base is located) to do more relaxing… Lots of it.
After a week, the very relaxed couple (Bob is extremely relaxed at this point we hope) takes a train to Milan, goes on to the Scandinavian part of the trip… to Tallinn, Estonia. Where there are lots and lots of medieval buildings and the entirety of the ancient wall around the city is intact (Gina loves this) and lots to see and a great 14th century restored building to stay in (Gina really loves this).
Five days later, the relaxed and steeped-in-way-cool-history-that-Gina-loves-very-much-thank-you couple hops on a ferry to cross the Gulf of Finland to Helsinki. There they will see the sights, eat at places recommended by one of Bob’s Finnish hockey buddies and from there return home, with one stop at Heathrow.
A quick synopsis… we shall see how it really goes, read all about it on the blog… enjoy!
